A current student and father, formerly designer, marketer, and project manager working for FloSports in Austin, Texas. I graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa receiving a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and I am currently completing a Masters of Art in Teaching degree at Drake with the hopes to one day teach high school art. With over ten years of design experience, a handful of years in the marketing world working with some of the biggest brands in the country, and recently re-entering a school classroom as both a student and a teacher — I have come such a long way and had some incredible experiences in my life, but holy cow do I know I have so much more to learn and I can not wait.
Great things I can and will do:
- Keep an open mind
- Respect others, whatever their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, class or ability
- Work hard
- Have fun
Pretty cool things I have done:
> design for professional running team HOKA NAZ elite, a local tattoo shop, restaurants, and food trucks, YouTubers, a New York Times best-selling author, and promotion for comedy shows and festivals, as well as a few of the biggest track, cross country, and wrestling events across the country… I have also worked as an Art Director for a local sports magazine in Iowa, as the head graphic designer and salesman for a t-shirt shirt shop in Texas
> read recently the Denial of Death by Ernest Becker
> writer for the Daily Art App, FloTrack, and FloHoops
> social media for the MLB and Turner Sports, FloTrack, and some of the top direct selling companies in the world
> comedy improv performer at ColdTowne Theater with the “What’s The Story Steve?”, an improv show for kids and people of all ages, performing weekly as well as featured in comedy festivals including The Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival, The Excused Absence Comedy Festival, and The 24 Hour Marathon at the Hideout Theater
> volunteer as an art instructor for kids at Laguna Gloria, a practicum art teacher at Des Moines Roosevelt High School, West Des Moines Valley High School, and Waukee High School, audio engineer at ColdTowne Theater, and driver for Meals On Wheels in Central Texas
Also, I have one beautiful wife, the greatest two-year-old son in the world, and an incredibly crazy fourteen-pound dog.
